Coming back to a virtual studio after Iowa State University’s spring break in March, students in this interdisciplinary experiential learning course tasked themselves with developing a concept image expressing ideas about “social distancing” and the built environment in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their images range from proposals for ideal environments that promote social distancing to interpretations of the feelings and psychologies that social distancing creates.
